Tracking changes in results

Hey,

Since I am new to the software, I was wondering if there is any way to track changes in design and their results.

For example if I update the thickness of a beam or change the cross section, can I go back to compare their effects?

Hi Zhaque,

You can use parametric inputs / outputs to track the influences of design changes. You can track the result you want like total/directional deformation or max stress.

Have fun ;)

Thanks for the reply!

Anything other than me going back and changing the inputs? does the software save results somewhere whereby i can see them simultaneously?

Hi Zhaque,

If you do a parametric study you can choose to “retain” the solution. This will force Ansys to explicitly write the model + result file to a separate folder -> Design point 1,2,3 etc. (DP1,2,3…). By default, it is just changing the input geometry, doing the calculation and outputting the requested result value, then overwrites the geometry with the new input parameters.

Have fun ;)

Thanks Gweher,

That's Exactly what i was looking for!
