Hello,

I have a theoreticel question bevore simulating. I am trying to simulate a single propeller from a plane as a testingcase of a bigger simulation in ANSYS Fluent.

In the simulation I dont want to simulate each blade and also no rotation of the blades. Instead I want to use the exhaust-fan boundary condition because in the options of this model I can enter velocity, momentum, pressure-jump and other things of the outcomming air.

But I am still not sure if this is a valid model für planes because in every tutorial they're simulation an internal simulation in a pipe or something similar but never a external simulation like I will have by simulation a propeller of a plane. I am even not sure how the mesh bodies should look like in my case because I think its not possible to place a finite surface like in the tutorial in an external simulation.

Tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXaeyCGE3nk

Does anyone know if this is the right model?
Is maybe an Intake-Fan boundary condition is better?
Or should I rather something like an Actuator Disk. (Adding some source-terms with the Cell-Zone-Condition)

I am cind of cunfused....

Thank you for your answers
