I would like to request for a design geometry in ansys workbench 16. I have tried designing a geometry similar to the attached image but not successful. I am able to draw one body but I cant seem to draw one body into another so that later I could create a contact between the two bodies.

I will be using the said geometry for pullout analysis. The bottom body I would like to create of say 10x5x5mm and the bar should be embedded 1mm vertically .

If you are using design modeler to create this geometry, you have to freeze the first body you are making before creating second body.Or else both will merge and gives you only one body.If you want faces to be split on second body based on first one then you can use share topology.Hope this helps

thank you for your reply.
After drawing the cube of desired dimensions, extrude and generate. Then how shall I draw the line with in the previously drawn cube so that only particular amount is inside that cube and the rest is outside. I am confused over it

Ok
1) Select XY plane and draw a rectangular sketch
2) Extrude the sketch which will be height of the cube
3) Now select the top face of the cube
4) Create plane on the face
5) Select this plane for new sketch on which you will draw smaller rectangle
6) Select extrude option for this sketch and in extrusion option select to extrude on both sides,or you can do extrude two times
7) Now Select Boolean options to subract the First body with Second body
8) Now You got two bodies where the small one will be at certain depth.
