Hi

I would like to print out the coordinates of the cell centers at the inlet selection on a mesh to a separate data file. Does anyone know a way to do this in icem cfd? The mesh is created in icem, but I got other software such as fluent available if it's necessary to export the mesh into another format.

Regards

Do you mean cell centers or face centers? There are no cell centers on boundaries, unless you mean the centers at cells that are adjacent to boundaries. I'm not sure how to do it for boundary adjacent cell centers but for face centers....

In Fluent after importing the mesh and initializing with a dummy solution you can go to export solution data and can export any variables, it will dump the x,y,z coordinates of each mesh node/cell depending on your selection. If you choose the cell zone then it gives all cells. If you chose a surface (including the interior surface) it it gives faces.

You could also export a PROFILE of any variable, which will also dump the cell/face centers.
