Simulating IMMOBILE reacting particles with the Eulerian-Lagrangian method in FLUENT?

Hello folks!
I want to simulate the following situation. There is a packed bed where the IMMOBILE particles are made of ZnO(s). A gaseous flow of diluted H2S(g) streams through the packed bed. The solid and the gaseous reactants get transformed according to: ZNO(s) + H2S(g) -> ZNS(s) + H2O(g). In Ansys-Fluent, I'd like first to simulate that system within an Eulerian-Lagrangian framework, whereby the particles are treated as discrete IMMOBILE solids. I would like to define a large number of them at the beginning of the simulation (e.g. 2000) which will be subjected to the heterogeneous reaction with the gaseous species H2S(g) defined above. Is it possible to do this with ANSYS-FLUENT or Openfoam? If so, how should I proceed? Many thanks in advance for your answers. Cheers. |
