Hi,
I'm trying to create structured meshes in centrifugal pump impeller, but when I edited Y-Block in the wheel hub region(the diameter is zero),it seems to appear association error.
Why did it occur and how can I generate high mesh quality,it really bothered me a few days, thanks everyone!

Hi ziyixy,

before starting. You should consider to post questions in designated subforums. There is one for ICEM and other ANSYS meshers.

In the screenshots, it is difficult to see the specific cause.
You probably have to re-associate some edges and faces.

I advise you to use "Scan Planes" to understand which parts of the blocking are having issues. You'll find this feature in the context menu of Premesh in the Model tree. You can move through the layers of the blocking and see how they are formed, or in which way they are distorted.

Best regards,
Sebastian

One point which comes to my mind, did you have created surfaces in the rotational symmetry planes? If you don't have any surfaces "catching" the blocking faces, they will be associated to the next closest surface, which might be the other side of the impeller. The latter will results in a completely distored mesh, wouldn't it?

Dear Sebastian,
Thanks for your advice, greatly appreciated.
I just disassociated faces under a book's instruction rather than creating surfaces in the rotational symmetry planes. It's not easy for me to correct within a short time, and I use unstructured grid to cope with my urgent task, sorry to reply so late,I'll handle it when free.
Cheers
