edge.PNG gridlines.PNG points.PNG Hi Guys! I'm new to CFD and currently I'm trying to create a simulation using ANSYS Icem CFD (see the first figure). I encountered a problem during meshing. For some reason the grid lines of the two blocks indicated in the second and third figures are intersecting. The gridpoint distribution on the upper and lower edge is exactly the same. The lines do not intersect if I move the vertices to the location of the small green blocks, which can be seen in the second figure. The points of the mesh also start at the small green block, this can be seen in the last figure. I want them to start at the edge of the block. Anyone knows how to solve this? I would really appreciate it! Kind Regards |

Hi Shivan,
Since you associated those two vertices to those points, the connected edges must there (and also the blocks corner must be in the points location). However, you also split (or linked) the edge and now have those control points floating around. One control point from each of the right edges is seems to be still located past the associated point. That's why the second to last element is past the point, while the last element ends in the point intersecting the second to last element. Since you seem to have well defined curves at the boundaries, i suggest you to not split or link the edges. Just use plain edge-to-curve association, as you already did. Delete the link, or unsplit the edge, this likely fixes the issue, i believe. Also recheck the vertex-to-point associations, the long black arrow in the fourth screenshot seems odd, maybe its associated to a different point. Best, Sebastian |
