System Coupling analysis, Structural / Fluent / ACP

Hi,

I have been experimenting with Ansys System coupling analysis using Transient structural and Fluent on various models successfully.

I am now trying to run the same simulations on a composite model, therefore integrating ACP Pre. I am blocked in the Transient structural part, at how to define the "Fluid Solid Interface" for a composite model from ACP Pre. Composite models appear planar, without thickness. ACP Pre only defines the thickness for the mesh, not the model.

Anyone has experienced integrating composite in a Structural / Fluid coupled analysis?

Your help is appreciated.

Doing a similar simulation, did you ever figure out how to incorporate ACP into Sys Coupling?

Hi,
No I haven't found out how. And I would still be interested in finding a solution.

You should be able to create system coupling regions on imported ACP solid models. If you import the mesh as a solid model from ACP, the mesh will be modeled with solid elements (instead of shell elements) and each surface will be selectable for system coupling regions.

My issue is more in volumetric transfer of temperature, let me know if you ever come across that.
