I learned Fluent in 3D and am now attempting to model a rocket nozzle in 2D, I have made a single surface CAD in SpaceClaim but do not know how to mesh it in Fluent. Opening Meshing in Fluent only gives the option of 3D. Any help would be appreciated.

If you set up workbench before, you have to change your analysis type 3D to 2D in properties section. I dont know where the section exactly but there is some settings about analysis type. You have to find it

Agreed with you Fluent Meshing appears to only have 3D option. Attached screenshot. Suggest to do it in 3D with one element thickness across the third dimension.

Fluent meshing is only for 3D application. You can add some thickness and generate a 2.5D mesh in fluent though.

It is because you created the mesh in 3D by default. you have to save mesh in 2D, to get 2D solver option. Did you mesh with Ansys default mesh module or ICEM, try to save as 2 D mesh. You can save as 2 D mesh in ICEM. by default you created 3 coordinate node points.
