Hullo all,

I am using ANSYS to model the non-linear material behavior of wood. The behavior can be described as plastic in compression. I need to assign this material behavior to the Beam 183/184 element.

I have the following uniaxial data:

Strain Stress (kip/ft^2)
0.00167 184.32
0.000334 36.86400001
0.000668 73.72800001
0.001002 110.592
0.001336 147.456
0 0
-0.00333 -243.36
-0.00458 -308.592
-0.00583 -362.886
-0.00667 -403.207
-0.00792 -423.368
-0.00917 -432.009
-0.02 -377.3
-0.04 -295.24
-0.06 -223.26

I have tried using Cast iron plasticity; but it returns an error ("zero yield stress"). Please note I have to use Beam 183/184 only.

How do you suggest I model it?
