Hi guys,

I am just confused by ANSYS. Can anybody tell what is the difference is between ANSYS CFD and ANSYS FLUENT? Are they the same software? Or is ANSYS FLUENT included in ANSYS CFD.
Besides, if I buy the ANSYS Academic Research CFD, will it have the full function of FLUENT.

It is really important for me. Please tell me if you know something. Thanks so much.

With the multiphysics license, ANSYS CFD is a version of CFX. Otherwise, one can get a the full version of CFX or Fluent. See capabilities chart at

I'm not sure what you mean by this post, but it is incorrect.

"ANSYS CFD" is a bundled software license product that gives you access to both ANSYS CFX and ANSYS FLUENT. CFX and FLUENT can also be bought individually, and a basic version of CFX called "CFD-Flo" can be purchased.

ANSYS Academic Research CFD will give you full access to both FLUENT and CFX.
