Help regarding CFD simulation of boiler

hello guys...

Recently i have taken up a project that requires simulation of a fluidized bed combustion (FBC) boiler to calculate flow characteristics etc.
I am new to CFD simulations, so i just want on how to start the process.
Is Fluent the right software for this problem?
I have been through older threads and posts but could not find one that answers my question very well. If you can direct me to a useful thread.. that would be helpful too.
I tried to search over the internet but i am getting more confused. What I have found out till now is that.. develop a 3D model in Pro E, then import in Gambit then use Fluent to simulate. Is this the best method for doing this?
I need a headstart.. i know my query is not very specific. I will try to be more specific from now on...

thanks a lot...
