Pipeline Corrosion

How can I calculate the surface degradation of a pipeline that natural gas is flowing through it using FEA? By degradation I mean the wear rate due to corrosion.
I was told I cannot do it by using FEA, I have to use something like Ansys Multiphysics.

If you have data to compare, I can help you model natural gas corrosion
