about meshing

hi, i'm new in this forum and also in ansys fluent software...
actually i've problem to do my final year project... first of all, how to import my Solidworks drawing into meshing application like designmodeler, because i want to mesh it before do the fluent application.... hope anyone can help me... thanks in advance |

Hi there,
Go to File>Export in SolidWorks and save it as an IGES file. Then in Design Modeler, go to File>Import External Cad Geometry and choose the IGES file that you save from Solidworks. Change the settings in the bottom left to say Add Frozen (instead of Add Material), Process Solid > Yes, Process Surface > No, and then click on the generate button in the top toolbar. Hi there,
You can clean up the geometry and extract the fluid domain in DesignModeler, and then you need to open ANSYS Meshing to create the mesh. I do not know of any guides that are publically available, so I suggest you do a google search or contact someone at ANSYS through your company or from a lecturer if you are a student or academic. ANSYS should be able to provide you with training materials or at least information about a training course in your region. Good luck! Cheers, Scott |
