I created 2 squares next to each other with one side in common.
I extruded them one by one, to the same height.
Is it possible for me to specify such that they do not merge and share common surfaces?
I want my block to have 10 unique selectable sides so I can insert different boundary conditions later.

Try to Imprint Surface Function:

1: create a line

2 Extrude this line with Imprint Surface

and this line will cut your box or block in different part you want

ben, I'm going to experiment with imprint today, but the trick I just worked out yesterday is to freeze the first body before allowing the 2nd to contact it - and that includes extruding a 2nd body to or from it.
