Modeling Solid and Fluid together in Ansys Workbench

Hi,

I'm a very new user with Ansys and I was hoping to get some help here.

I am trying to model and mesh a solid with a fluid domain attached to it in DesignModeler. The idea is a wire moving through water. I have tried using "Freeze" to model the parts separately and that seems to work. However, when I try meshing it, the meshes aren't consistent even though I'm using the same grading on both parts. Basically I need one continuous mesh but still have the ability to look at the solid and fluid separately when I move to Fluent.

Hope this makes sense and that someone can help!

Hi sonja,

You neet to put all the solids into one part to get a conformal mesh across them.

In design modeller select all the parts you want to mesh in the design tree on the left, right click and select form new part. You also need to select share topology as the lat operation before moving to the mesher.
