local scour around pier bridge by Eulerian model

Hello everyone,
I am using Eularian granular two phase model (water and sand ).
My model is a rectangular flume(3D) with a pier in mid-channel.
I'm trying to model water flow over the sand.
I should be able patch the sand phase first . This phase is located within a box (domain closed with wall boundary for it) and water flow over it.
But I have some problems for solve it.

1- In the material panel i cant see sand. so i selected water for primary phase and air for secondary phase and set granular phase by clicking it in Define->Phases panel and set properties. But i cant sure for it !? I think should define sand as solid phase! not fluid (air or water)

2- for patching, do i set the volume fraction of sand =0 ?

3- If i need define new material for sand, What properties should know of the matter? only granular temperature is sufficient?

Im beginner in the Eulerian multiphase flows modeling . My background is restricted to simulation of flow in open channels with VOF.

any help from you is very appreciate!!

Regards,
