How to solve this in ansys!

I need some help from experts here... Let us say there is a material with known initial temperature and that is suddenly exposed to environmental temperature. So we can expect convection around the boundary of the element. If we assume the environmental temperature to be a sinusoidal variation dependent on time. I would like to know how to apply such boundary conditions in ansys in a simple way and also would like to know how to solve this time-dependent problem. I am interested only in temperature variation due to such phenomena.

Any help is very much appreciable.

Stoka,

This is a pretty easy problem to solve with a UDF. Have a look at page 2-85 of the Fluent UDF manual for how to apply boundary conditions as a function of time. Have a shot at it, and then if you have problems with getting it to work, post the UDF-related question in the UDF portion of this site.

Best,
ComputerGuy
