Hi,
Has anyone had any experience with a software package called CFdesign v7.0? I'm trying to run simulations on small water coolers but see a lot of inaccuracies in the simulations with regards to the temperature increase of the water. Even though the solution is regarded as converged the energy balance simply does not compute correctly, i.e. the water temperature increase is too high compared to the heat going into the water. Just wanted to know if I was the only one having trouble with the software package - seems to have a lot of bugs in it. Regards, PAD |

Hi
My advice is based on general experience Which turbulence model you are using. K-epsilon and k-omega gives different result. Also the grid size will also matter. Please read your manual and give make grid adapt or remesh the grid to get y+. Typically for two layer k-epsilon turbulence model the value for wall y+ is < 1. Hope it would help. A.S. |

Thanks for the reply.
I'm actually running the simulation as laminar - if convergence is achieved shouldn't the energy balance be OK no matter if the solution actually represents the real flow? /PAD |
