Hello all,

I would like to know what other mesh files FIRE can read, apart from its own native.
For example can it read a full volume mesh in ABAQUS *.inp format?
Other there any other options, like CGNS for example?

Thanks

Vangelis

Hi Vangelis,

Yes, you can import *.inp to AVL Fire, as well as *.cgns. I am just not sure if the names of the parts will go with it.

Regards,
Mack

Hi all,
I am trying to import the polyhedral mesh from ansa to avl fire, which is the best format to export from ansa.

usually .inp works well for tetra and hexa mesh, but polyhedral its not working.
anyone had this issue or anyone can help me with solution

thanks,
Dhiliban

Which ANSA version are you using?
Try CGNS and see if it works

Did you try all the available output CGNS options from ANSA?
Did you try to output in Unstructured NGON format for example to see if Fire can read it?

When you output in CGNS format
there is a window where you specify the Unstructured format
it is a pull down menu with the options
Mixed
Separated
NGON
try all of them to see if one works
