hi
recently I am trying to run FIRE on high performance center whose system is LSF.
Does anyone have the experience to do so? If so, it would be very appreciating if you could share your experience with me.
thx

We use the LSF systems to run FIRE jobs on HPC. But all setup is done by IT team.

thx for reply
besides, do you run FIRE on specific nodes? Or the LSF system will select the suitable node for you ?

In our setup, LSF first tries to select full ideal nodes (based on number of CPUs/cores requested). If required no of full ideal nodes are not found then LSF takes partially occupied nodes.

We do not run FIRE on specific nodes but let LSF to decide that. But yes, we have two queues of nodes (x cores per nodes and y cores per nodes) and we mentions (to LSF) which queue to be used.

it seems so wonderful, and your discription really meet my situation.
Could you tell me the terminal command that you use when you submit the job?
And it would be so appreciating if you could ask the IT team about the setting of the LSF system and the software FIRE. If you dont have so many spare time, just give me the contact information of the IT team ,and I would turn to them for further information.

thx for all

We don't use the terminal command. We have online form where we mention the project name and location, case to run and number of CPUs desired. That's all.

If you want more information on LSF then why don't you get in touch with the software vendor itself? That will be quick and authentic.

I contact the avl local support, but they dont know about LSF. everytime I ask them about the LSF, they turn to the headquarter. The feedback require so long time with so little information.
Back to our discussion, you run FIRE on HPC, so you have to login the host node (maybe login node), and then deal with FIRE right?
