Default Launching a FIRE simulation

Hi everybody,

I guess I am the most stupid all over the forum, as I cannot even start FIRE in Linux. I mesh file and the only thing I want to do is to open FIRE, import the mesh and create a new project so that I can start setting up the simulation. As far as I know, the syntax should be:

.../fire_cmd -name=fire -solver_vers=v2013.2 -project_dir=path -project=projectname -case=casename -cfd_mesh=meshname -mpi -cpu=16 -hostlist=hostname1,8,mpi:hostname2,8,mpi

However, there are some questions I have, as FIRE is not opened but message saying 'abnormally finished' is given:

1. project_dir= is this the path where we want to save the calculation folder and the project file? I guess it is. Does it need to also have the mesh file inside?
2. project= what is this if the simulation has not started yet nor a project has still saved?? Should I give a default name? I tried giving a dummy name (e.g. test00.fpr) but it says no project file was found (obviously, the simulation did not start yet!)
3. case=again the same. Should I give a name in particular a priori?

4. hostname1 and hostname2 = the idea is to use two nodes of our closer (namely nodo10 and nodo11, each of which has 8 processors). The machine name is flu, so how should we call each node?

I tried to import the mesh in my Windows machine, and I saved a project and a case, and I upload these files to my Linux machine, so now I have these files, but it is still an error (please, find attached a scan of the message).

What should I do??

Any help is welcome, thanks in advance!

/Jorge

Hi Yes, prior to the above command, you should have a valid project file, Meshes folder, Calculation folder, and the Case folder with valid ssf in it.

Ji l3Munoz,

problem is probably in -project=projectname.fpr --> you must include *.fpr extension. Also, for this -hostlist im not sure but try without and with this option.
For sure -project must be -project=project_name.fpr
