I am currently using AVL Fire ese diesel. please how does one apply engine loading for a simulation. for instance how can you apply a part load of 25% for your diesel simulation

You don't apply load to the simulation. you reduced the fuel supply and the engine will generate less power.
for 50% load reduce fuel by about 50% along with injection duration.
