Posted November 20, 2012 at 17:05 by diamondx

Average static Pressure and uniform static pressure

Posted November 8, 2012 at 05:52 by Far

What is the physical significance of both options. When to use static pressure (fixed every where) and when to use the Average static pressure(floating with average constrained)?

In my opinion static pressure condition may be the good for the boundary far away from the object to be studied, in other words flow is more or less uniform at outlet boundary.
On the other hand the average static pressure may be more physically correct as it allows the conditions to vary along the...

2d meshing in ansys meshing

Posted November 2, 2012 at 09:08 by diamondx

I remember in the past I was using the import features from solidworks with the plug-in features mentioned and also via various file formats such as IGES or Parasolid.

In order to avoid any errors with geometry and meshing I have decided to move to DesignModeller for most of my simple geometries. It saves so much time especially when undertaking a iterative design or optimisation study. Unless the geometry is complicated or represents some assembly which is used elsewhere, by members...
