Refine mesh in cylindrical coordinate

Hello,

i have a cylindrical sector and i would like to refine the inferior part of my cylinder only in r and z direction (the coordinates are r,angle,z). This is normally done by : CREF 2 1 2 CSET The command is done successfully except near the centre of my cylinder where prostar divide some cells in Theta direction. If you already encounter this problem can you help?

Star-CD version 3.10

hallo Moussa, if you like to refine cell in cylindrical sector. 1 choose the zylindrical coordinate 2 choose the plan x,y in prostar(view z) than in star guide/create and import grids/grid refinement/cell refinement/new/zone and make a polygone arond the figure and klick of done/than write (cref 2 2 1,cset,,,merge,couple,1) and the rest for the plan(view Y)

If your model goes all the way to the centerline and you have prisms around the centerline then you cant do what you want. Check the help on CREFINE and you will find that for prisms, ndivi=ndivj = an even number.

Hi Moussa,

Plesae ref. the User's guide Chap. Other type meshing for this type problems, to refine the specific zones.
