porous media

Hello,

I'd like to do some investigation on an air filter which produces a very low pressure drop. This filter is used on a combustion engine.

The simple "alpha-beta"-model does not fit because ((alpha*U+beta)*L)/(rho*U) >> 1 is not satisfied. In my case the left side of the equation above is around 5.

So I think I have to use sormom.f. Is there anybody out there who has experience with this subroutine and could provide some tips.

Thanks for help!

Bjorn,

I have used the sormom.f routine. I agree that you should probably use the sormom routine. If you have used other user subroutines, this one is implemented in the same way. Specifically, the sormom routine can be programmed to whatever you want as the momentum equations. In my version 3.10 Methodology manual pages 8-7 and 8-8 it tells you what you should program as S1 and S2. (That would be equations 8-20 and 8-21 OR 8-22 and 8-23.) I hope you are using the same version and have access to the manual. If not, let me know. Hope this helps.

Hello Mike,

I started using sormom.f a couple of weeks before I got your massage. It did not make any trouble and the results were also good.

However, thanks for your help!

Bjorn
