ideal gas law in turbulent flow

When using the ideal gas law to compute the gas constant (R) from T, P abso and Dens I get a distribution similar to the turbulent kinetic energy. The lowest value in the field is slightly bigger than the value computed from the molecular weight and the universal gas constant. Switching off the turbulence model yields a uniform gas constant.

what's wrong ?

turbulence model:

high Re k-e model & Wall functions

molecular properties:

specific heat = const.

densitiy = ideal f(T,p)
