Extrusion (between a half-sphere and a plane)

Hello,

I need to do the mesh of a fluid between a sphere and a plane. I use Prostar.

For the moment, I have a 2D patch in a square whose top is a half circle. I tried to use the VCEX command with a spherical coordinate system, but as I had expected the mesh obtained had a spherical surface at the top (that is what I want) but at the bottom too (and I want a plane).

Does somebody know if it is possible to extrude between 2 surfaces, or two splines? Or if you have other suggestions...

Thank you.

Aline

Re: Extrusion (between a half-sphere and a plane)

If the radius of the half-sphere is quite large, you may be able to do the following: 1) create a patch (VPATCH command) 2) copy the vertices of the patch (CSET NEWS SHELL $ VSET NEWS CSET) and project them onto the sphere (with VPROJ) 3) Use the VELL command to fill the gaps with vertices 4) Define one cell and use CGEN to generate the others.

Hope this helps
