Meshgeneration with proam

Hi all,

at the moment we are testing proam as an alternative meshing tool for ICEM. And I'am not sure if the following problems can be handled. A typical problem is very similar to figure 4-38 "Union Result" on page 4-38 in the proam manual but with an addition of baffles. This means the dot line in the figure should represent baffles. We have tried nearly everything but the subsurface is always contracted in the edeges of the baffle. In comparrison to PROAM this problem can be meshed very simple with ICEM. (You have to define 5 material points and thats all) Is there something like a material point in PROAM??

Another essential thing that the mesh must be a full mesh between the baffles and the other "materials" due to a porosity definition for the volume which is enclosed by the baffles. This is essential since star can't couple porosity and fluid also e.g. Fluent can.

Can these problem be handled fast and reliable with proam?

I could help you, if you send me an image of the model. Bye
