Free surface and moving body

I am trying to simulate an immersed solid body moving across a body of fluid with a free surface, something like what a torpedo does.

Is Star-CD able to simulate this free surface flow with moving body? Turbulence is required as well.

Thanks!

Re: Free surface and moving body

As far as I know you have to combine free surface flow and the moving mesh option.

You should have a look at COMET which was already used for that kind of calculation.

I ever did this kind of the problem. So I sure it's ok with STARCD. But I spent a lot of time for this case, it's very difficult to calulcate.

Please listen to what Jörn has written. Comet is the better code for this kind of applications. BTW, you can run Comet with starsuite features, provided that you have sufficient cometall features in your license file. Contact your local vendor for any additional info.
