I met difficulty when installing the Star_CD: MPICH.NT 1.2.3 couldn't be installed properly. according to its installation guidance, the MPICH.NT installation is performed silently. However, in my case, I waited and waited, for a long time (several hours), it can't be finished. there is no any information or prompt,it seems nothing is happening in pc. What's wrong there? Could anybody give me some hint and suggestion? please, I am totally confused.

try running the MPICH.NT installation manually and see what comes up (if anything)...on the CD, there is an MPICH directory...just run the MPICH installer interactively.
