plotting vectors normal to curved surface

Please let me know how I can plot the vectors the way I want.

You need to create a local cylindrical coordinate system (click on the orange "CSYS" button) and then load your data using that csys.

Will it work for non-cylinder as well? This is a mere contoured surface, not a perfect cylinder.

You will have to write a little prostar-macro to calculate the projecting.

Another way is to use Ensight or CCM+.

Sorry, but I never really needed this feature to survive.

You can try to get a one month demo license for EnSight. This should solve your problem.
