Un-connected surfaces and ProAM cutting

Does anybody know how to create a trimmed mesh in ProAM without bothering about full node-to-node connectivity for the surface mesh?

You need to look into the surface wrapper as a quick way of creating a fully connected surface mesh.

I am pretty sure ProAM requires a closed surface (water tight, node-to-node connected, etc.).

One route to investigate is surface wrapping. Another (albeit more tedious) is application of the hfil & ezip commands.

It should be possible to use a not closed surface with the switch "disable surface check" but the result might be not perfect.

This is the same as the "new surface" option. But there you just use the new created surface and not the volume mesh.

I agree with you Jörn, theoretically it should be possible, and it has shown to work in practice as well. i would however be happier if the poor mesher could create a sub-surface from a un-closed surface. This absolutely seems not to work.
