Porous Media with heat transfer

Hi,

I want to simulate a porous media with heat transfer with StarCD. I am new user to this field, any help will be helpfull.

Also please guide, how to select the values of 'beta' and other coefficients.

Thanks

A.S.

Re: Porous Media with heat transfer

Well, there are many steps to go through. The porosity values you need to enter are of course material dependent, and usually come from measurements of pressure drop vs. velocity. As far as the heat exchange is concerned, you need to use so called hxinput.dat files, which are then used by the heat exchange subroutines of StarCD. They contain usually characteristic curves describing the amout of heat being exchanged for a certain value of coolant/air/whatever fluid is going through your material.

Hello, first thnak you for this rubrique , iwant to know if there is a good literature in the doamin modelisation the radiative heat transfer in porous media and how to find it .all the approximation and models.and eventually the software. thanks
