Trimmed mesh in Proam

Hello everybody,

I am new to proam or you can say StarCD. I have imported a 3D mesh in StarCD from gambit. I wanted to try the automated mesh generation technique on this using proam. Can this be acheived using graphical tools in StarCD or is there no was running from commands. Thanks in advance.

Regards Sam.

Re: Trimmed mesh in Proam

Hi Sam,

You will need to provide a little more information such as what format was used for the geometry transfer from Gambit. If it is a file format recognized by pro-am (eg STL or Nastran) and the surface is closed then it should be ready for immediate use in the software and you can start making a trimmed mesh for it. Depending on which version of STAR-CD you are running, the pro-am GUI tools are available in the AutoMesh or Advanced pull down menu at the top right of pro-STAR. Look at the user guide and tutorial set for pro-am for more details on how to make a mesh using the GUI panels.
