meshing in ccm+

Hi,
I'm currently learning how to mesh in ccm+ and I've ran into difficulties. I have imported a simple geometry into ccm+ environment(*.dbs) and in order to control my meshing I've decided to split my boundaries by field function. Yet when I go to do this I get an error suggesting that field functions can only split boundaries if a single finite volume representation is present. Can anyone suggest what is wrong? Thanks for any assistance |

I deleted the remeshed representation and all was fine.

I actually had to delete all representations except the volume mesh representation.
This means that I have no base surface to remesh from. Can anyone help me? |

You cant use field function spliting on surface meshes, you have to use angles, edge lines and non contiguous. You also can't split using any method with more than one representation as this would blow up the other representations.

A question about baffles in ccm+

Thanks Ben,
Just another thing, I have imported an STL file of a cuboid domain containing an infinitesimally thick wall, which I want to act as a baffle. It remeshes fine but obviously will not generate a volume mesh because the surface is not closed. Yet, when I convert the wall to a baffle interface it still doesn't generate a volume mesh. Could anyone help me on this? Thanks in advance for help. |
