Pressure graphs

Hi all,

I am Prasad and am working on serpentine channel of a PEM fuel cell using pro-star in star-cd.I need help with the following:

1)How I could plot a graph of Pressure in the x-direction.I tried the graphs options in star-cd but was unable to load the pressure quantity in the field data.

2)How to find the average velocity at say the inlet face. The contour plot just gives me the min and max values.

Prasad

For fuel cell it is easier to use stardesign getaway, we are making the analysis of fuel cells in 1/3 of the time required in star-cd:

- design your fuel cell geometry in stardesign with the different fluid/solid/porous domain

- after solver pre-processing open the .sim file in star-ccm+

- define the chemical reactions and other modeling option. You can define the electric potentials (log laws...) using field functions

- the post-processing of what you are looking at is really easy using "derived parts"

- star-ccm+ uses the same license as star-cd and prostar: you only need to download it from www.cd-adapco.com support site

If you have to use star-cd then you need the basic training course or some sessions with star-tutor. Or look for the "post-processing guide" in prostar v4 help

Good luck,

A.

Hi,

For the first question sincerely you should be able to load the field data. For the second question select one layer of cell at the inlet boundary and then issue

load [POSTFILE NAME] oper getc vmag summerize cset

It will give max min average sum
