Read the CCM+ help file, you need a *.inp file to import vertex, cell and region files into CCM+. StarCD creates a *.inp file if you do a cdsave. If you cant create a *.inp file with your inhouse-program you can read in the files to Star-CD and do a cdsave.

Is it possible to do it the other way around? I.e. make the grid in CCM+ and save it as .vrt .cel .bnd format? Don't ask why ...

If you want to mesh in ccm+ you can write a .ccm file that prostar can read. If you want to export that model in .vrt, .cel ... format, you can. You just can't write those files directly from ccm+.

I did it using the ngeom command in Comet. You can read ngeom files in Star-ccm+. I'm testing Star-ccm+ with some cases done with Comet but in general results are quite different...Have you also experienced problems? In wich cases?

I haven't compared Comet and ccm+ results. I was told by a person working for Adapco that one of their clients had been doing comparisons and getting agreement within 1% ....
