Hi, we use STAR-CD v.4.02 and 3.26. When importing and checking .pat or .nas file to proam, STAR-CD v.4.02 uses very much memory (about 2 GB). When using STAR-CD v.3.26 this problem needs far less memory. Did anybody face this? Can anybody explain, why it takes place?
Thanks for attention. |

it is normal. it is star v4. we have been recommended to use it only if really, really, really necessary. I don't think the chief software engineer of starv4 has done much industrial software in the past, only academic.

If I remember correctly, we were told in the '06 Detroit Users' Conference that STAR v4 is storing vertices in double precision. This doesn't mean that model size is going to double.
