acoustic and noise simulation

Hi; Can star-cd simulate (calculate) the intensity of a high speed jet noise? If no, do you know a software that can perform such a simulation?

Re: acoustic and noise simulation

There are two methods:

The Lilley source technique which gives quick and qualitative information.

The other is to run transient with DES turbulence and pick up fluctuating pressures at some locations. Then pass this through a FFT program to get local dB, or send to a noise prop. program like Actran or SYSNOISE to get propagation information away from the jet.

To make the latter technique easier, it and other tools are included in the Expert System add-in called es-aacoustics, purchased separately.

noise simulation

Does cfx simulate the flow noise?
Every one, do you know whether the cfx post can analysis the resluts?
Thinks!
