Source Terms in Star-CCM+
In Star-CD you have the option to add source terms for Mass, Momentum, Scalar (Species) etc...
but in ccm+ if from physics you select "Multi-Component Gas" we will have the option of source term for Momentum, Species but not Mass! and if you select "Gas" you will have the option of source term for Mass, Momentum but not Species! In other word, you cannot have all of them together! how is that possible, is there any explanation for that? |
Re: Source Terms in Star-CCM+
If you have a single-component gas, you only have one "mass" equation (the continuity equation) so you only specify one mass source. If you have a multi-component gas, you have N species equations plus the continuity equation. In STAR-CCM+ you specify the N species source terms, and the source which is applied to the continuity equation is calculated internally as the sum of these sources.
STAR-CD is different because it has the concept of a "background fluid", so when you think you have N species, you actually have N+1. |

Once I got the graph where flow rate against pressure from modelling of pump How can I get this result as a source term in to Star-ccm for another simulation? Thanks |
