extract point data

I wanna extract one-point data after solving

Though I can see particle trace, can't extract data

What I want is only extracting one-point transient data to use at techplot, not whole data

Re: extract point data

You mean you want to set one point using x-y-z coordinates and extract postprocessing values of this point? IS the point connected to the mesh?

um...

for example,,,

I concerned about fan motion. so I focus on one-spot, which is on the blade.

Rotation fan, one-spot will move.

Then I extract an information about one-spot,,changing velocity, pressure fluctuation, temperature,,,etc.

How to get to extract these information...

Susan,

do you have a vertax at this position that is connected to you mesh? In that case you can simply write out post-data.

Oterwise set a vertex in the interesting position and interpolate data on it. Afterwards you can also write it out.

Re: extract point data

you can do this in star-ccm+ using a derived part(point). The point will not move location while the mesh will rotate or translate using rigid body motion.

it is better to use star-ccm+ than star-cd for this type of application.
