Hi

I created my model in Gridgen and then imported them into starCD. When I display the face number, I found that face number of the meshes that I created in Gridgen is not consistent throughout my model. What I mean by not consistent is that for example, I want the cell face at the outlet boundary equal to 3, but the it turn out to be a mixing of 3, 4 or 5.

Is it possible for me to renumber the face number in StarCD or Gridgen if starCD fails to do that?

Thank in advance

As far as I know this will be difficult in STAR. I do not know gridgen.

Why do you need this face numbering?

Depending on the topology of the hexes you might get CDIVIDE (1 1 1) to work (use CDIR first), I forget if there is a vertex only version of this that can do it without without creating new cells.

An alternative would be to CFIND shells onto the surface and extrude a layer, if the geometry permits. These should have consistent face numbers normal to the boundary.
