CG or AMG Solver

What is the best solver in Star-CD for incompressible, steady state model?

Is their any information about that?

Thanks

Hi

To the best of my knowledge , there is as such no information on which solver has to be used. I will prefer AMG solver as it has some advatages over CG. Actually you can use both solvers alternately and then see the difference in results (in my case I got exactly the same answers)

In brief - AMG is much faster for big problems (like 1 million cells and bigger) but requires more memory.

I would add that your result should be the same whatever solver you use. Otherwise the whole CFD would be pretty useless. Good comparison over different solvers could be found in: http://www.amazon.com/Computational-.../dp/3540420746
