Hi guys,

I'm trying to install Star-CCM+ on UBUNTU operating system but after executing ./setup command, I am getting the following error message:

./setup: 1: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string

Any idea?! it happens with "sudo ./setup" as well!!!

there are few issues. Ubuntu uses dash instead of sh, unlike other distributions. You'll find more here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DashAsBinSh

the setup script of ccm does not follow POSIX very well. Therefore the script is not working. Unless you want to spend time finding bugs, unpack the tar.gz files yourself. it is easy, it works. In the installation help you have the directory structure, you should follow. good luck

Or just install a decent OS like SuSe

Install the neu version from ccm+ 3.02.006

sudo dpkg-reconfigure dash

select no then

sudo dpkg-reconfigure bash

Guess u have it figured out by now though!
