Default CCM+ strange interface idea?

When you importe two regions which have an area where they fit together you have to create an interface in-place so that the flow can go through the two areas of the two regions. Why can not create CCM+ these interfaces on its own? It is a stupid work in complicated models to create dozen of interfaces e.g. models with many porosities!

Hi Peter

STAR-CCM+ has a functionality called split by surface topology. Have a look in the help for more information.

I use it all time for complex geometries. Does this do what you want?

No. When you have two regions that share one boundary you can not use this function. You have to look for the two areas that lay on each other, mark them and then create interface in place. It is a pity that this do not work automatically.

If you merge the two regions together, then do a split by surface topology it will automatically create the two regions and the interfaces between them.
