Grid

I transferred the airfoil geometry from Autodesk Inventor (IGES format) to Pro-Surf and created the grids. I saved the outputs as database, IGES and STL. But, when I tried to open this geometry in Star-CD it did not open as IGES, STL or Prostar format. Is this grid created in Pro-surf the same one that is need it in the Proam program? Or I have to generate a mesh? What is the difference between the Prosurf Grid, Proam Grid, Pro-star Grid and Proam Mesh? I will appreciate any help provided.

Re: Grid

Hi,

IGES is for CAD (geometry) if you imprted you geometry to ProSURF it is not the way to save IGES there and go to PROSTAR.

I do nto know what stl in PROsurf exactly does.

The way to go is generate the surface mesh in PROsurf (I guess you did) and save it in database. Afterwards read the datapase to the program you want to create the evolume mesh with. Prosurf grids or meshes (both words are used) are only surface meshes. Volume mesh can be created with several tools like proam, prostar or third party.

Hope this helps.
