Default parcel injection error #019

Hi all,

I am now doing fuel injection of an engine and encounter this error No. 19:

10 news parcels have been injected and only 8 is found in domain.

My injector is a 5 hole one and 2 parcels are assigned to each nozzle. When I do the postprocessing, I find that one nozzle is not injecting at all!

Has any of you ever have this problem?

Many thanks!

if you are injecting the fuel at the boundary try moving the injection points a little inside the domain maybe at the centroids of boundary cells

It sounds like all 10 parcels came from the same injector. Did you specify 5 separate injectors? Does each injector hole have it's own coordinate system properly assigned?

Just 2 parcels? That's not really statistically significant.

The message is telling you 2 parcels left the domain. Look at your results & identify where they went. Were they carried out a boundary? Or as DB suggested, are your injection points on a wall boundary - that doesn't work well.

Thanks, DB and Pauli.

Each injection has its own coordinate system. For this 5-hole injector, the two higher nozzles, which are nearer to the top wall boundary, can properly inject the fule, while another two which are lower seem not activated, with no fuel injection at all.

I also calculate an 8-hole injection, all nozzles have the same z position. The problem in this case is less serious. Sometimes (not all the time) error 19 is reported that out of all the 16 parcels injected, only 15 is in the domain.

Any help would be appreciated.
