starccmw.exe takes 5mins 100 % cpu for file dialog
Does anyone know why starccmw.exe (starccm+ 3.02.006 win 32) grabs all my cpu for more than 5 mins when I click on import or export or record? It takes this just to put up a file selection dialogue box. I suspect its a java/xp problem (no problems under linux).
My simulation is just a few thousand cells. My PC is 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 running XP service pack 3 (same problem with SP 2) with 1GB RAM. I have 75Gb disk, with 32 Gb free, recently defragmented. I have set the page file to initial/max 3072Mb. Many Thanks for any advice. |

I uninstalled and reinstalled, and that fixed things.

I think that is a bug in the java file chooser dialog on windows:

Thanks, looks likely to me. Come to think of it, I had the bug after I had updated the java that's installed with starccm (I thought I'd be writing some java, and there was a balloon nagging me to update). When I reinstalled starccm+, I didnt update its java, and the bug hasnt reappeared.
