Fortran compiler problem

I have recently installed the Absoft Fortran compiler for star-cd v4.06 and receive the following error when trying to run a model with user coding from the shell:

$ star PNP: Initialized [2008-08-15-13:40:35] Automatic Sequential Automatic Parallel analyzer. PNP: Allocated "t-tran,1" resource (1 process). PNP: Overload STAR master processor with external moving mesh code. PNP: Assigned "t-tran,1" resource to STAR solver (1 process). PNP: Assigned "t-tran,1" resource to external moving mesh code. PNP: **WARNING** External moving mesh code look a head cannot be used with NEWXYZ user coding. PNP: Analyzing User coding in "ufile" directory. PNP: **WARNING** Cannot find required library archiving tool "lib.exe". PNP: ==> This binary utility is normally installed with your C/Fortran compilers.

I am running star-cd on Windows XP and purchased the order the Pro Fortran suite specifically for Star-CD with a single floating license from http://www.absoft.com/STARCD_OF.htm

Can someone please help me with this problem?

Re: Fortran compiler problem

STAR-CD 4.06 on windows does not use the absoft compiler. You need to use the Intel compiler. lib.exe is from the winodws SDK.

From the release notes:

STAR-CD for Windows requires Intel Fortran 10.1 only if user coding compilation is needed.

The Intel Visual Fortran Compiler 10.1 is available for purchase from: http://www.intel.com.

In addition to the Fortran compiler, Microsoft Visual studio 2005 and the Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 are additional dependencies required.

If you do not own Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, perform a default install of Microsoft Visual C++ Express Edition 2008 which can be downloaded from: http://www.microsoft.com/express/download/
